I earned by Bachelor of Science degree from Western Michigan University, majoring in Biology/Secondary Ed.; minoring in General Science. After graduating from WMU, I started teaching for SHPS in the fall of 2000. I have taught the majority of my career here at the high school, but was also a science teacher at Baseline Middle School for 2 years. I earned my Masters of Science degree in a program for secondary science teachers from Michigan State University in 2005. I grew up in Stockbridge, Michigan (between Ann Arbor and Lansing) where I graduated in 1994. I played varsity sports (golf, basketball, and baseball) and was the youngest of four brothers raised on a family farm.
I have always enjoyed learning about nature and enjoy sharing my love of learning with students. I currently live in South Haven with my wonderful wife Lindsay (KidZone preschool teacher) and our black cat, Kenza.
